As a parent, there are many things that get in the way of getting your family to eating healthy. Many times your kids are going places and they don't have time to sit down with the family to eat. You still need to make sure they are eating healthy food and you need to make sure that they are getting the vitamins that they need.

Try to prepare a healthy dinner that includes things like fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and whole grain breads. Sometimes your family may not like the food that you cook, but you should try to be a good role model and encourage healthy eating. One thing that you need to do is to eliminate sugary drinks like soda or fruit-flavored drinks. You should serve low-fat milk, water or juices instead.

There are other ways to make sure your family is eating healthy. You can make a dish that you can serve that are better for you than french fries. Slice potatoes thinly, salt and pepper then bake them on a foil-covered cookie sheet, turning them every 15 minutes. Bake them at 425 degrees, then turn the oven up to 450 degrees and cook them until they are golden brown.

Make a dish with chicken. Take chicken cutlets, dip them in egg whites and whole-grain bread crumbs seasoned with salt and pepper and Parmesan cheese and bake them on a cookie sheet until the breading is golden brown, about 40 minutes.
